Three People Died in a Russian Drone Attack in Odesa, Ukraine

KYIV, Ukraine—Regional Governor Oleh Kiper announced on Saturday that three persons had died after a Russian drone crashed into an apartment building in the port city of Odesa in southern Ukraine during the night.

Eight more individuals were injured, according to the officials.

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, eight drones assaulted the Odesa region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine said that air defenses shot down 14 out of the 17 drones that were fired against the nation.

Oleh Syniehubov, the regional governor of Kharkiv, announced on Saturday morning that a drone strike had destroyed high-rise structures in the regional capital, Kharkiv, and that over 20 communities in the eastern Ukrainian province had been hit by Russian artillery and mortar fire.

Three persons experienced a "acute stress reaction," but there were no injuries, he added.

A 53-year-old male was murdered on Saturday morning by Russian artillery bombardment in the partially held Kherson area, according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, a drone struck an apartment building in St. Petersburg on Saturday morning.

After the explosion shook the building, six persons required medical attention, according to the agency, which cited the city's health care committee's press office.

A Ukrainian drone is alleged to have struck the residential complex, according to the news website Mash. This allegation could not be verified by the Associated Press.

Videos that appeared to capture the moment the apartment complex was hit were posted on the website. They showed a bright flash of light engulfing one side of the structure and debris falling into the air. Car alarms were heard in another video.

Regarding the event, the Russian Defense Ministry has remained silent.
