Russian Fighter Jet MiG-31’s Crashes Into the Pacific, 2 Crew Members Is Unknown.

The fate of the two crew members of a Russian fighter plane that crashed on Tuesday while on a training flight off the country's Pacific coast was unknown at the time. MOSCOW.

According to the Russian military, the MiG-31 crashed at Avacha Bay on the Kamchatka Peninsula's southeast coast. It stated that its two crew members were being sought by rescue crews.

The military said that there were no armaments aboard the aircraft. It didn't instantly provide any further information or mention any potential crash causes.

The MiG-31 is a twin-engine, two-seat supersonic fighter built for long-range interceptions of enemy aircraft and cruise missiles. Since the 1980s, it has served the Soviet and Russian air forces.

In April, a second MiG-31 crashed in the Murmansk region of the Arctic, but the crew members managed to escape unharmed.

Numerous mishaps involving the Russian air force have been reported, which some analysts have linked to an increase in flying activity because of the conflict in Ukraine and Western tensions.
