Novak Djokovic will miss the Madrid Open owing to injury.

The Madrid Open confirmed on Saturday that Novak Djokovic, the world's top-ranked tennis player, will skip the event owing to injury concerns.

"Wishing you (Djokovic) a speedy recovery, we hope to see you back on court as soon as possible, Nole," the Spanish event tweeted.
