Philippines win in AFF Women's Championship

The Philippine Womens National Football Team blanked Singapore, 7-0, for its second win in as many games in the 2022 AFF Womens Championship Wednesday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Malate, Manila.

Isabella Flanigan opened the offensive barrage of the Filipinas with a goal in the 9th minute.

The Philippines took a 2-0 lead when a Singaporean player scored in their own goal.

Tahnai Annis made it 3-0 with a header in the 19th minute and Sarina Bolden connected with another header in the 38th minute.

Sara Eggesvik then scored from close range in the 47th minute followed by a goal by Kaya Hawkinson in the 56th minute.

The final goal of the game came from Anicka Castaneda in the 69th minute for the Filipinas, who solidified their hold of the number one spot in Group A with 6 points.

On Friday, the Philippines takes on Malaysia at 7 p.m. at the same venue.

Singapore, on the other hand, battles Thailand at 7 p.m. at the Binan Football Stadium in Laguna.
