Taiwan: It Is Uncertain Who Would Support the Island in a War

In the case of a conflict with China, the island of Taiwan, according to its foreign minister, would defend itself. He said that the island is not requesting assistance from other nations.

Taiwan's foreign minister Joseph Wu stated that the island is committed to protect itself in an interview with Sky News last Friday. asked which nation may support Taiwan in battle. Wu said, "This is a very good question."

Wu's words come as the United States, Taiwan's closest defense partner, refuses to announce if it will intervene to help the island.

President Joe Biden has stated several times that Washington would protect it in the event of a conflict.
