Gervonta "Tank" Davis defeated Ryan Garcia in the seventh round of a duel of undefeated boxers this Sunday (PHL time) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
In the beginning, both boxers tested each other by firing jabs and nothing else. In round two, Garcia came out swinging and was caught with a crisp left hand that knocked him out.
Garcia, to his credit, recovered quickly from the hit, but it gave Davis the confidence to begin pressing the action. In round six, Garcia finally opened up and took risks, delivering a crisp right straight to the temple.
Davis delivered a crisp left hand on Garcia's midsection, forcing him to kneel in discomfort the next round. Davis was awarded the victor by knockout at the 1:44 mark of round seven after failing to beat the count.
Davis' flawless record rose to 29-0 with 27 knockouts, while Garcia suffered his first defeat, falling to 23-1 with 19 knockouts.
